The overall mission of the North Dakota Ballet Company is to offer professional dance training, performance opportunities, and to advocate dance within the community at large.

About Us:

North Dakota Ballet School provides quality ballet training for all ages in a uniquely artistic and creative atmosphere and is dedicated to helping students achieve technical excellence while nurturing their individual artistry. As a professional-track ballet school, North Dakota Ballet Company serves students interested in dance as a career as well as those wanting to dance for fun in an atmosphere of excellence.

With superb technical and performance abilities, many of our students have earned regional and national honors. North Dakota Ballet Company School alumni have gone on to dance with renowned companies such as Shaprio and Smith Dance Company, Maggie Bergeron & Company, and Minnesota Dance Ensemble.

The North Dakota Ballet Company School evolved from the Kay School of Dance, founded over 50 years ago by Katya Novak. North Dakota Ballet Company currently occupies two spacious studios, a costume shop and offices in the Grand Cities Mall.

The North Dakota Ballet Company & Academy has over doubled in size and is now home to a faculty featuring artists with a variety of professional performing and teaching experience. The ballet curriculum is enhanced with classes in modern dance, jazz dance, tap dance, and hip hop, enabling students of the North Dakota Ballet Companyl to become artists who are versatile and expressive, as well as technically proficient.

Students of North Dakota Ballet Company School have numerous performing opportunities, including North Dakota Ballet Company & Academy classical ballet productions. Students have the unique opportunity to appear in a full length classical ballet production featuring professional guests artists from companies such as the prestigous Oakland Ballet. Previous productions include: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and La Fille Mal Gardee. Additional productions include the annual Spring Academy Concert, the Competition Showcas.
