The Hope Golf Course contains 9 holes surrounded by beautiful landscaping and challenging obstacles. The Hope Golf Club Had its beginning in the summer of 1965. A group of local golf enthusiasts decided the time was ripe to get things moving. The First meeting was held and J. Clayton Visby was elected president, R. Paul Pederson vice president, Thomas Dorrance secretary-treasurer. By-laws were adopted for the club and the secretary-treasurer was authorized to execute an option to buy 40.8 acres of land from John and Leona McCullough for the sum of $4,080. At the same meeting a promissory note was signed for $18,400 with the Farmers Home Administration for funds needed to prepare the ground and lay out a 9-hole golf course and build a clubhouse. A golf cart shed and rural water were added later.
