The 10 Best Playgrounds in North Dakota!

Childhood is all about running, climbing, playing, and unleashing your imagination. And there is no better place to do just that than at your local playground. From Bismarck to Fargo, North Dakota’s wonderful playgrounds will let children swing, slide, and even zipline, all day long. Here are our favorites in the state.  

New Generation Park, Bismarck, ND

New Generation Park is aptly named, as it is a favorite play spot of the newest generation of kids! Kids can run and climb on the park’s many equipment items from slides to swings to teeter totters. Parents will love this beautiful neighborhood park as well, because it is quiet and all the other visitors are friendly and welcoming. Bismarck’s New Generation Park is a must visit!

Lindenwood Park, Fargo, ND

Lindenwood Park is essential to the community in the Fargo and Moorhead area. The huge park has a spacious campground with plenty of room, picnic areas perfect for an outdoor summer feast, and a fun and exciting playground for children of all ability levels. The playground has lots of equipment, so kids can spend hours here playing and exploring. Lindenwood Park is a must visit for Fargo parents!

Oak Park, Minot, ND

Located from the eleventh to the fourteenth block of 4th Avenue in Minot, Oak Park is an expansive park that is the ideal spot for a stroll through nature, a relaxing picnic under the trees, or just hanging out and enjoying the unbeatable weather. The park has amenities that include a sand volleyball court, live music and event area, amphitheater, picnic areas, splash pad, and play areas for children. Your kids will never want to leave Minot’s Oak Park!

General Sibley Park, Bismarck, ND

General Sibley Park in Bismarck is a popular spot for campers and outdoor enthusiasts. The park offers over 100 RV camp areas with electrical hookups, an area for tent camping, shower areas, disc golf course with 24 holes, picnic areas, walking and biking trails, and a playground. This playground will be a favorite of kids and adults alike, as it isn’t crowded or busy and it has plenty of fun things for kids to play on. 

Universal Playground, Mandan, ND

The Universal Playground isn’t just a playground, it is a new and exciting experience designed to let kids have the most fun possible in a safe and accessible environment. The entire playground is made with a rubberized poured in place surface, making it extremely safe. There are many unique aspects to the playground including a zipline, a seesaw with four seats, quiet dome for kids to rest in, roller table, sensory wall, electronic game in which kids beat a constantly moving light, swings, and much more! 

Watford City Children’s Play Park, Watford City, ND

Conveniently located in downtown Watford City, the Watford City Children’s Play Park easily has the single best playground in town! Kids can let loose and run around this fun park while parents can relax in the serene park environment. In addition to the playground, there are also baseball and volleyball places, as well as picnic areas. 

Igoe Park, Bismarck, ND

Eight acre Igoe Park is a popular area for families to spend a nice afternoon in nature. The park is located right next to a fire station, so all the playground equipment follows this theme. Kids will love the tower fire station play area where they can use the telescope to pretend to watch for fires. There is also a walking trail, picnic shelter, and a horseshoe pit, so parents will have fun here too!

Courts Plus Playground, Fargo, ND

Courts Plus Playground in Fargo is a unique indoor playground that kids absolutely love. The pirate themed playground goes up 38 feet, with several big slides and seven levels of fun. While there is an admission fee of $4 per child for children from one to 12 years of age, it is worth it to see all the excitement they’ll have at Courts Plus Playground!

At this unique and important park, children of all abilities can play together while enjoying all the excitement the park has to offer.  

HighAir Ground, Minot, ND

While not a traditional playground, Minot’s HighAir Ground is an exciting trampoline park that will have your kids falling in love with exercise. This indoor trampoline playground has over 10,000 square-feet of trampolines that span wall to wall. Kids and adults alike can play in the dodgeball area, basketball courts, foam pits, freestyle area, launch platforms, and the kids zone. HighAir Ground also hosts birthday parties and other events, making it one of the most popular spots in town for hyper kids. Parents will love this trampoline playground just as much as their children.
