10 Fun Things to Do on New Year’s Eve in North Dakota

From Fargo to Bismarck, you’ll find a variety of activities and events to satisfy everyone. Whether you’re a family with little kids that can’t stay up too late or you’re ready to dance the night away, here’s how to ring in the new year right. 

Zoo Year’s Eve at Red River Zoo, Fargo, ND

Along with the incredibly clever title, Zoo Year’s Eve is sure to lead to giggles and smiles. Admission to the event is free, and the event is totally family-friendly. There will be free carousel rides and music courtesy of Renegade Light & Sound. This event is a perfect lead-in to the night, lasting from 1 to 5 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Skating Party, Dickinson, ND

Similar to Zoo Year’s Eve in that it’s an early-bird New Year’s Eve event, the skating party lasts from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring the whole family for a bonding experience—ice skating. It’s free admission with charges only for skate rental. Try and teach yourself to skate backward, and slide into the new year in style.

New Year’s Eve, Bismarck, ND

This event will be held at the Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge #1199. The party will be held on the Lodge Floor with music by the Ravens at 8 p.m. The party lasts until about 11 p.m. So it’s perfect for those who want to get into bed before the sun rises. Otherwise attend the party until 11 p.m., and then head onto the next one.

Midnight in Wonderland, Grand Forks, ND

It’s the end of 2018, and you want to do something out of your comfort zone. Attend Midnight in Wonderland to view hypnotist Rick Bultez. Who knows, he may ask for volunteers from the crowd! If he chooses you, you’re in for a unique experience. There will also be a raffle, hors d'oeuvres, and dancing. For ages 18 and older.

New Year’s Eve with Danny Elvis, Fargo, ND

Two great shows are on offer at different time slots. If you have other late-night plans, attend the 6 to 9 p.m. showing. If this is where you want to bring in the new year, visit the 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. showing. Danny Elvis and the Legends Show Band will present a tribute to Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.

Hosted by Ebeneezer’s Eatery & Irish Pub, this New Year’s Party is for ages 21 and older only. Home of authentic Irish cuisine, dress in all green for the New Year’s Eve party and ring in the year the Irish way. Wild Hands will be playing live. They combine Americana, folk, and rock music and are from North Dakota.

Tripwire NYE Bash, Mandan, ND

If you want to rock New Year’s Eve’s socks off, attend the Tripwire Bash. Tripwire is an energetic multi-genre band out of the Midwest. Each member of the band can play multiple instruments, resulting in the four of them playing a rendition of musical instruments on stage. They are sure to keep you awake and partying until the new year arrives.

Holiday Lights in Lindenwood Park, Fargo, ND

A relaxing walk or drive through holiday Christmas light displays is often a favorite holiday pastime. Why not invite the whole family, attend the lights, and go back home for some appetizers and cocktails. The lights have more than 65 displays, and the cost is affordable. It’s $7 per car or $6 with a canned good.

New Year’s Eve Yoga, Bismarck, ND

Livewellyoga is hosting a New Year’s Eve Yoga session from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The session will include preparation for 2019’s resolution as well as a complimentary beverage.
